Update and Upcoming Events

UPDATE:

I just wanted to provide you with a little bit of information on Ms. Andrea Woodward! She is finally arriving back in Nashville tomorrow after traveling to three separate national competitions where her dancers competed, she taught classes, and she judged!
She began her summer journey at Kids Artistic Revue Nationals in Panama City Beach, FL where HDA’s competition team was extremely successful (scroll down to check out the results)!
After a long and emotional week, with our seniors dancing for the last time :( , she traveled to Charleston, SC to attend Applause Talent Competition Nationals.  There, she taught at their National workshop and choreographed part of their opening number (along with the other teachers at the workshop) to their Best of the Best Competition! She also judged their Best of the Best Competition!
If that weren’t enough, she traveled straight to Las Vegas to judge at the Kids Artistic Revue Nationals in Las Vegas! Not only is she judging the competition, but she also choreographed the opening number for THEIR Star Showcase that takes place at the end of the competition.

Phewww! That’s a lot for one woman, but she seems to have had a great time sharing her incredible talents and representing Hermitage Dance Academy around the country.  We thank her for all that she does and congratulate her on all of her accomplishments this summer!

HDA’s Studio Owner Judges for Rainbow Connection

This weekend, Andrea Woodward is in Greenbay, WI judging for Rainbow Connection Dance Competition!
This competition is in partnership with Kids Artistic Revue (one of HDA’s favorite dance competitions). It is her first time judging there and we are excited she gets to continue sharing her wisdom! You’re awesome “Ms. A” !

HDA on KarTV!

KarTV is a series of dance driven webispodes with kid-friendly content meant to inspire and educate competititon dancers.  Kids Artistic Revue, a competition that we attend and that Andrea Woodward judges for, hosts KarTV.

In this webisode, Andrea talks about her competition tip of the week, correcting sway back! Enjoy :)

 

Also, on the end credits, it says that Brienne Barnett is dancing (which she is an esteemed alumni of HDA) but it’s actually Chrissy Rodefer! She is a senior this year at HDA and has been dancing on the competition team for about 10 years!

HDA’s Studio Owner Judges for KAR

Studio Owner, Andrea Woodward, traveled to Baltimore this weekend to judge for Kids Artistic Revue!  Kids Artistic Revue (better known as KAR) is a national talent competition celebrating their 30th competition season.

They have also recently added a convention in which Andrea has had the honor of teaching at this year.  HDA has attended KAR for several years and we are attending their national competition in Panama City, Florida this summer. It is one of the most enjoyable competitions and the competition team looks forward to it each season.

Andrea has been given the opportunity to judge for many different competitions due to her incredible choreography and skill in showcasing her dancers’ talent.  She has won countless choreography awards and awards for her student’s technical ability, including Teacher of the Year at a national competition. We congratulate her on all of her accomplishments, including this one!
